The warm welcome from Catherine at the reception made me feel at home right away. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had spacious bedrooms with huge beds. The restaurant had a cozy ambiance and the dinner was excellent. The breakfast choices were numerous and the cooked meals were first class. The location of the hotel and its well-maintained grounds added to the overall pleasant experience. I highly recommend this hotel.
Although the pool facilities were mentioned as a positive aspect in the database, I was turned away from using them without much explanation or empathy from the staff. Additionally, there was some mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, which was a bit disappointing.

Location
First room had a sink which would not empty. Replacement room had exactly the same problem. Poor internet in the conference area.

Location, near to Alnwick
Food in the pub was awful, the restaurant was fully booked on arrival so we were not able to eat there and the pub food was terrible. We informed 2 waiters that it was sub-standard when they enquired about our mean but neither did anything to recify the problem. Bathroom also neeed regrouting/thorough cleaning of tiles.

We got great value for our money at this hotel - the dog-friendly policy was a pleasant surprise, with a reasonable charge per night for any number of dogs. The location was perfect, with plenty of nearby villages and walking spots to explore. The spa facilities were top-notch and included in the room price, making it an absolute steal. The staff were delightful, always helpful and friendly.
When it came to the breakfast menu, the toast consistently came out burnt.

Superb location with beautiful surroundings and adjacent to a golf course. The hotel has a lot of character and the breakfasts were excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly, especially the manager who addressed our concerns about portion sizes.
The rooms in the old building were in need of renovation, with windows that wouldn't open and an old-fashioned TV. The menu options for dinner were limited, resulting in repetitive meals during our stay.

We stayed at the lovely Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel for a weekend getaway. Our four-poster room was homely and the bed was incredibly comfortable with crisp linen. The staff, particularly Aidan, were friendly and went above and beyond to serve us. The grand entrance and tranquil location added to the overall charm. The pool area was lovely and the 24-hour bar lounge offered a wide menu of delicious food. a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

we stayed with yourselves for a family wedding. it was the best wedding we have ever attended! everything from start to finish was excellent and to a very high standard! well done! the hotel, the setting, the standard and service was second to none!
the room was hot and humid. windows only opened a fraction, so we had to get a fan from reception. dirty flanels were not replaced, sink area hadn't been cleaned (this was not on day of arrival i might add, it was the day after our first night.) breakfast for £15.00 was way over priced, quite expensive for a family of three! would have cost us £60.00 for 2 mornings for 2 paying adults. hassen to say we never ate there but ate out! had prices had been more reasonable we would obviously had stayed which would of added to the experience of our stay with yourselves.

The cooking at the Linden Pub was very subtle and good - almost gourmet.
1. In hot weather Room 119 gets unpleasantly hot, and the window only opens a few inches. Somebody should draw the curtains there in early afternoon. 2. Noisy wedding party which went on until well after midnight.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was large, clean, and had a really comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was spotless and had a great hot shower. I appreciated the complimentary Elemis products and the ample supply of tea and coffee. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The hotel grounds were lovely, and I enjoyed a delicious bar meal. I also liked the fact that there was a separate pub on-site. the cleanliness, hotel facilities, location, breakfast, and staff were all top-notch.
Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes.

Its location - The Linden Pub food and well priced and very appetizing.
The price of the food in the Linden restaurant was expensive and not best quality. Portion size was small and the wines expensive. We have eaten at higher standard establishments with better food and portion size for a better price. Attached bar was over priced and under manned. Not sure the our £13.50 glasses of win was of the correct size that I was charged for. All in all poor.
